
One-family video door entry kit Having restyled its packaging with a focus on innovation and environmental sustainability, the company based in Marostica was rewarded for the packaging of its one-family video door entry kit (code K7559G.01). Specifically, the features which enabled Vimar to clinch the award are as follows:
A generous 326 projects were presented, of which 185 were submitted. These are the figures of the eighth edition of the tender promoted by the Italian National Packaging Consortium, under the patronage of the Ministry for Environmental Transition, which rewarded the most innovative and eco-sustainable packaging solutions introduced onto the market in the 2019-2020 two-year period. The 185 cases of sustainable packaging achieved an actual reduction in the environmental footprint of the packaging, which can be quantified as a 28% containment of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, the reduction of energy consumption by 21%, and water savings of 10%.
The Extended Technical Committee, who decreed this year’s winners, comprises leading experts from Milan Polytechnic University, Turin Polytechnic University, the IUAV Faculty of Architecture in Venice, the University of Bologna, Legambiente, Altroconsumo and ItaliaImballaggio.
The applications were analysed using the Eco Tool Conai tool which is designed to calculate - thanks to a simplified LCA analysis - the effects of eco-design actions taken by companies on packaging in the form of a before and after comparison in terms of energy savings, water savings and CO2 emission reduction.
