Vimar was established behind the medieval walls of Marostica, in the North-East of Italy, thanks to an idea shared by Walter Viaro and Francesco Gusi. Since its establishment, Vimar has established itself as a benchmark in the production of electrical equipment.
The brand lauched the pear switch, which became a common feature of Italian households for decades.

In 1950, Vimar released its inaugural printed catalogue, which was distributed to its sales rapresentatives and included 1-way switches, switches, 2-way switches, pear, rotary and lever push buttons, socket outlets, and a variety of accessories.

In the 1951 catalogue, VIMAR introduced its pioneering flush mounting installation system: a sleek plate-glass monobloc design that prioritised aesthetic appeal while maintaining a subtle presence within residential spaces.

The evolution of electrical systems heralded the transition from lighting devices with glass discs to the first wiring series in porcelain and thermoplastics. Mascot was launched, safely integrating components within flush mounting monobloc elements.

The SICURY shutter prevents contact with live parts in current socket outlets. The patent was made freely available to all operators in the sector, and subsequently became the regulatory standard.

It represents the aesthetic and technological evolution of the Eikon series, it is luxury unveiled. The Eikon Evo cover plate is more squared, larger, with a chrome frame and premium materials, to give an exclusive touch to environments.

Design evolved, and Arké was born with a contemporary and modern style: the buttons are rounded with Classic cover plates, featuring rational geometric shapes and Round with a slightly curved shape and soft corners.
